Day 11 – God is Triune; Lust is Selfish
If you cherish God’s unity and love—if you adore the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, treasure the local church; and delight in His word—how can lust find a home in your heart?
Isaiah 42:8, 11 - 8 I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols. 11 For my own sake, for my own sake, I do it, for how should my name be profaned? My glory I will not give to another.
Matthew 28:19 – 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
2 Corinthians 13:14 – 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Jesus commands His disciples to make disciples of all nations, declaring, “Baptize them in the Name,” singular, but then lists three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God guards His glory, sharing it with no one else, yet He shares it with the Son and Holy Spirit. Why? Because these three are one God, one Nature.
Since the First Century, Christians have taught that God is Triune. The Trinity reveals one God who eternally exists in Three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three in Person and one in Nature.
All that the Father is, the Son and Holy Spirit are as well. Their distinction lies not in their Nature but their relational order: The Father eternally begets the Son, the Son is eternally begotten of the Father, and the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. Thus, the Three are relationally distinct, logically distinct, yet one in being.
