Today, will you give yourself to lust, which cannot satisfy? Or, will you give yourself to God who can satisfy you today, tomorrow, and forever?
Day 12 – God is Unchanging; Lust Cannot Satisfy
Psalm 102:25-27 – 25 Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. 26 They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, 27 but you are the same, and your years have no end.
Malachi 3:6 – 6 “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.
James 1:17 – 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
God is immutable or unchanging in His Divine Nature, His Godness. He eternally exists, beyond the bounds of time and space, preceding all creation. He created all things out of nothing. Self-existent and sovereign, He stands apart from His creation. The concept of “need” applies only to creatures, not to God, for He lacks nothing.
God does not change. Were He to change, He would change for the better or for the worse—both impossible, because perfection cannot be improved upon or diminished. He is constant, without any variation.
